Development & Compulsory Purchase
Stockport Town Centre Regeneration
Roger Hannah is currently advising Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council on various regeneration and improvement projects being delivered across the Town Centre. Our role involves providing budgetary advice in advance of property acquisitions, entering into discussions and negotiations with property owners, assisting businesses in relocating and providing advice on the compulsory purchase process as a method of last resort.
Following the acquisition of the former White Lion Public House as part of the Town Centre regeneration programme in 2015, we have been actively involved in marketing this key strategic property. After undertaking viewings and discussing the opportunity with various interested parties, we have now identified a suitable developer who is excited to work with the Council to deliver a residential led scheme which will revitalise this landmark property. The redevelopment of this important and prominent building will dramatically improve the area around the junction of Great Underbank with Little Underbank, acting as a catalyst for further improvement and investment.
Roger Hannah is also marketing the opportunity to redevelop Russell Morley House and adjoining land situated on Lower Hillgate. Currently vacant, the property is calling out to be redeveloped and brought back into beneficial use. Interested parties should contact Simon Cook or Angela Juszczyk for further details or to arrange a viewing.
With various other projects in the pipeline, this is a very exciting time to be involved in helping to shape the future of Stockport Town Centre.
