Development Monitoring is a specialist area and requires a knowledge of construction, procurement strategies, building contracts and project management.
Due to our vast experience our team of RICS accredited Building Surveyors. We are able to advise upon all aspects of a development including design, construction quality, statutory approvals, progress and cost management to mitigate statutory or commercial risk.
The role of the Project Monitoring Surveyor begins before the construction contract is awarded pre-contract services include:

Cost appraisals and project budget review.

Advising on project team appointments and procurement strategies.

Analysing the design, specification and related statutory compliance.

Advising on the suitability of building contract, consultants terms of engagement, etc.
Post-contract and during the construction process, our Monitoring Surveyors will carry out regular site visits and provide interim progress reports commenting on:

Progress of the works against time and budget.

The quality of works being delivered.

Applications for interim payments, in line with a pre-agreed draw down schedule.

General compliance with statutory requirements.

Practical completion.

Matters relating to defect rectification, during the defect liability period.
