The RICS invited Stephen Lashmar to give a seminar on compulsory purchase to its members. Entitled “The Issues and Challenges of a CPO,” Stephen’s presentation provided an overview of the CPO process and issues associated with CPOs, followed by an in-depth examination of the need for reform and the implications of the recently introduced Housing and Planning Act 2016.
The RICS asked Stephen, an Associate Director in the CPO Team, to give the presentation as a part of their CPD Foundation Programme, and he said it was an honour. Whilst the initial content of the seminar seemed straightforward at first, recent legislative changes did alter the structure of the presentation, which was a challenge to incorporate.”
