Roger Hannah has acquired Grasscroft Development Solutions, the viability consultancy arm of Grasscroft Properties, in a move that establishes Roger Hannah as one of the largest development advisory teams in Manchester.

Grasscroft Development Solutions was established by Mike Coulter in 2003, and has since grown to be the largest viability consultancy business in the North West. The business advises a large variety of clients including Countryside Properties Plc, Bellway Homes, Redrow Homes Ltd, Barratt David Wilson and Persimmon Homes.

Mike Coulter, with over 20 years of experience in the development industry, will remain at Roger Hannah in a consultancy capacity for the foreseeable future to oversee the merger and to develop the combined business.

The acquisition comes shortly after the appointment of Laura Mackay, formerly of Savills, as a Director and Head of Development Consultancy. Laura will be working alongside Mike to lead on the viability side of the Development team, in addition to other development consultancy services.

The wider Development team at Roger Hannah, headed up by Tom Shepherd, has grown substantially over recent years and also provides transactional services, strategic consultancy and Compulsory Purchase advice.

Simon Cook, Managing Director of Roger Hannah, said

“Grasscroft Development Solutions is a well-known and respected viability business acting for a range of national housebuilders across the North West and beyond. The acquisition of the business further galvanises our position as key player in the development market. Together, Mike and Laura will ensure the Grasscroft viability business is fully integrated within the existing business structure, providing an established platform for future growth.”

Mike Coulter, speaking of the merger said,

“The merging of the Grasscroft and Roger Hannah viability businesses is great news for clients, combining the skills and professionalism of both practices, whilst also allowing clients to benefit from the support that can only be provided by a larger forward-thinking firm such as Roger Hannah.”
