James Quilliam joins Roger Hannah
James began his journey by spending 3 years at WSP working on all three legs of HS2. James’ role consisted of landowner identification throughout the HS2 Red Line Boundary in preparation for Compulsory Purchase Order. In his time, James interpreted over two thousand Land Registry documents and produced Land Acquisition Reports identifying over five hundred stakeholders. James moved up the ranks at WSP and his success culminated in being seconded to WSP’s India office to train overseas staff on UK Compulsory Purchase Order and HS2.
Next was Mott MacDonald where James represented HS2 and National Highways. This role consisted of arranging survey access via intrusive and non-intrusive access agreements. James secured the access rights for over one hundred surveys during his tenure. James was awarded by HS2 with the HS2 Integrity Values award for strong negotiation skills.
This was followed up by a team lead role at Bruton Knowles where James managed a team of seven to progress multiple Development Consent Order and Compulsory Purchase Order contracts from National Grid and RWE Renewables. Under James’ management, all projects progressed efficiently with the most notable success being the submission of the 335 plot Book of Reference for National Grid. James now manages Roger Hannah’s major National Highways Historical Railway Estates contract spanning throughout the UK.
Outside of work, James is frequently found in Manchester climbing centres and the gyms. James is keen to see the world with him doing solo trips as India, Ukraine, Bolivia and Australia to name a few over recent years.
Andrew Sutcliffe, Director & Head of Property Management, commented on James’ arrival, ‘James is very much a welcomed addition to the team and from our first conversation it was clear to see his passion for the role and for providing clients with a diligent and first-class service. James has worked on some high-level project’s, and we are delighted to have him on board at Roger Hannah.’
