Happy International Women’s Day! At Roger Hannah, we are fortunate to work alongside some incredibly talented and inspiring women.

We’re taking a moment to celebrate the women in our team and share insights from four of them about their experiences and achievements.

Laura Mackay, Director – Development

I can’t say I ever think about being a woman at RH because we work in an environment where men and women are treated equally. Diversity can take many different forms, and I think what makes a good team is a mix of experiences, perspectives, working styles and personality types. There will inevitably be some differences between men and women in this regard and it’s important that both men and women are supported and championed for our business to thrive.

It’s great to see so many women across the business and entering the industry. My team happens to be made up of 75% women which is a good statistic for IWD!

Maxine Miller, Surveying Administrator – Agency Services

I joined the RH Agency Team during COVID and found RH to be very supportive at what was a difficult time, and it was clear from the outset that RH respected individuals’ work life balance regardless of gender.  I have always been made to feel like an equal as a woman and that as a woman I bring different qualities to the business and to our respective Teams, which is encouraged, and why it’s important that RH recognises that having a good mix of men and women throughout the business works well.  My ideas, views, and opinions are fully considered, and I feel free to speak up about anything I feel is important to me or those around me.

I’m proud to work at a company whose ethos is “A Relationship driven business with Success and People at its heart” where RH value and implement many suggestions for business and personal improvement.  They recognise hard work and commitment regardless of gender, age, or ethnicity. They not only support their staff, but charities and clients alike without any prejudice.  The above are just a few reasons why I enjoy and feel respected, as a woman, being employed at Roger Hannah.

Mia Rowbotham, Client Accountant – Commercial Property Management

As a woman in the property industry, I’ve always felt encouraged to pursue my career ambitions without limits. My journey at Roger Hannah has been incredibly rewarding, and moving from Facilities Management to Property Finance has provided me with a unique perspective on the diverse opportunities within the industry. I’m proud to be part of a company that celebrates women in the workplace and continually fosters an inclusive atmosphere where we can thrive and make a meaningful impact. International Women’s Day serves as a reminder to celebrate the achievements of women everywhere, and I’m grateful to work in an environment where women are supported and respected.

Ellen Roberts, Facilities & Business Manager – Commercial Property Management

Working at a Property Management Company as a woman can be both rewarding and challenging. Career growth opportunities are abundant, especially if you are proactive and willing to take on diverse roles. Navigating a traditionally male-dominated industry can present challenges, however Roger Hannah’s commitment to diversity and inclusion has fostered a supportive environment, making it a great place to grow professionally. Having women driving the business forward is truly motivating and inspiring as a young professional in the industry.
