Our Charities

As a business Roger Hannah is committed to working in partnership with selected charities that address poverty issues and work with the most needy in society.

Roger Hannah seeks to generously give each year to our chosen charities. Whenever possible we provide property services to our partner charities without charge. Our staff also volunteer to provide help and donate both practically and financially.  Specifically, we support:

The Oasis Centre

Our support is not just financial but also professional. Roger Hannah provided free development advice to The Oasis Centre to help them to acquire land and build a new day centre in Gorton, East Manchester.

The Oasis Centre, provides crisis support help to over 5,000 people each year including families, asylum seekers, refugees, ex-offenders and those struggling with long-term unemployment, homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction as well as mental health issues.

Their goal is to work with the very vulnerable people, who fall below the radar of most public services by providing them with food, education and support, so that they can access the help they need to get back on their feet.  Each year, The Oasis Centre, finds 50 plus jobs for people who are often third or fourth generation benefit dependent.

Please watch the video explaining their work. Roger Hannah is proud to be a supporter of transformational charities such as The Oasis Centre.

Barnabus

If you’ve walked the streets of Manchester, you’ve almost certainly passed by a rough sleeper. In fact, you’ve probably noticed that there are more people living and sleeping out on the streets.

In 2010, the official rough sleeper figure was 7. In 2019, it was 123. Unfortunately, we know that in reality the number is much higher. Barnabus helps up to 100 people a day in their drop-in centre alone and it’s not just people living on the streets who come to them for aid. Being homeless is not having a home to call your own. This means that there are hundreds of hidden homeless people in Manchester living in hostels, emergency and temporary accommodation or on friends’ sofas. And they all need the help of Barnabus.

We are proud supporters of transformational charities such as Barnabas and give financially towards their work. Our staff also volunteer each month at the Centre.  Please watch the video explaining their work.

Embassy

Embassy is a homelessness charity based in Manchester City Centre, seeking to create a homeless community that will provide wrap-around support for the city’s homeless and vulnerable men.

Their approach is to reintegrate vulnerable people back into society by helping them to find work and a home of their own, reducing the pressures on local councils. Embassy works hard to build confidence and life skills so that they can contribute to society again offering them a hand up, not a hand out.  They run a number of houses across Greater Manchester and are looking to create an Embassy Village near Castlefield.  Please watch the video explaining this project.

Roger Hannah is discussing with Embassy a project to support homeless women across Manchester.  We are proud to be supporters of transformational charities such as Embassy.
