The government, despite extending the revaluation of business rates from April 2015 to April 2017, has not extended the period where businesses are entitled to appeal.
With the deadline of March 31, 2015 fast approaching, most businesses will not be aware of these changes, which have not been publicised by the government. The net effect is that any appeal made between April 1st, 2015, and March 31st, 2017 will not be backdated to the start of the current rating list in 2010.
