Roger Hannah’s Building Consultancy team are proud to have delivered Pre-Acquisition Building Condition Surveys, negotiations for Landlord works, Schedule of Condition, Defect Diagnosis, CDM, Building Standards advice and recommendations for ForbiddenPlanet in respect of their stores throughout the UK and Ireland including their new flagship store on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow.

When the new store opened its doors on 9th November, it’s not only the biggest store of its kind in the UK, but one of the biggest Pop Culture destination stores in continental Europe.

Neil O’Brien, Director of Roger Hannah said “It is a real pleasure to attend the pre-opening event to see the culmination of the fantastic work that has been carried out by the entire team involved with ForbiddenPlanet.”

The new store looks fantastic and enables the business to advance further into the future with a new store which spans 3 floors, nearly 8000 sq. ft. of retail space and is approximately 7 x greater than the existing Buchanan Street store, from which they have traded out of for over 30 years.

A gargantuan Chewbacca has become the latest recruit of what is set to be Scotland’s biggest comic book and memorabilia store. The eight-foot-high Funko Pop Chewie Statue stands proudly in the new Forbidden Planet Store which opened on November 9th.

Kevin O’Donnell, Glasgow Based Group Retail Manager of Forbidden Planet said “Work is well and truly underway at the new store and it is a busy but ultimately exciting time for everyone involved in the project. We will now have three floors, a new gaming section, Manga and much more. We have also employed eight more staff for Sauchiehall Street.”

This landmark event for the company, notably represents an encouraging and welcomed high street success story in light of recent doom and gloom with less progressive retailers.

The brand strength will continue to develop; using a combination of a retail high street presence and an online offering, ensuring that modern day trends are captured whilst retaining the original tactile approach to shopping.
